La Casita is a very special Canarian house nestling in the beautiful north of La Palma. Dating back to the 1908, it has been carefully restored to provide quality holiday accommodation with modern amenities, yet retaining its very special original features. Built of local stone and tea wood (the heart of the mountain pine), the walls of the house are almost two-feet thick which gives it a cosy and romantic atmosphere.

It lies right in the heart of an amazing landscape and has a panoramic view over the bay of Franceses and the whole of the north coast of La Palma. Although it is what many guests call ‘a piece of paradise,’ it is still only 25 minutes from the nearest town with all its facilities and a 12 minute drive from the sea: we think it has the best of all worlds.
|Consisting of two stories, the lounge with kitchen/diner is downstairs
and the bedroom and bathroom is upstairs.
Downstairs, the spacious lounge with kitchen/dining area, has a real cottage feel with its exposed wooden beams.
There is a comfortable 3-seater sofa, maple dresser for sets of glasses, cups and mugs, a mahogany pedestal table and a storage unit with games and lots of information about La Palma. A CD/MP3 player along with CD’s is supplied and there is a DVD player along with a library of DVD’s upon request.
Double doors open out onto two patios with seating and dining table, the ornamental garden complete with its own palm tree to sit under and of course the panoramic sea view.
For your cooking needs, there is a four-ring gas hob, microwave grill, large fridge/freezer, twin sinks and a full range of kitchen utensils.
Matching sets of quality crockery are stored in the wooden display shelving built into the wall, a traditional feature of old Canarian houses.
Upstairs is a large bedroom, once the sleeping accommodation for a Palmeran family with eight children.
Nowadays, it is rather more romantic and as one guest said, ‘It’s like sleeping in heaven!’
The high wooden ceiling is of the ‘cuatro aguas’ design, being of four sides. The wide, hand-sawn floorboards are also original and traditional to La Palma and are made of wood from the pine forests, which lie above the casita.
The antique-style bed has a luxurious duvet of duck down and feathers – light and yet deliciously cosy.
There are also two armchairs in the bedroom so you have comfortable seating both upstairs and downstairs.
|The large en-suite bathroom features a full-size Victorian style roll-top bath. It is perfect for a sumptuous soak as there is unlimited hot water –
and plenty of room for two.
You can enjoy your holiday cottage from the outside as well – there are two patios and an ornamental garden all with a panoramic sea view.
The garden and patios of La Casita overlook the whole of the north coast of La Palma. Just listen to the buzzing of bees or the tinkling of goat bells!
The owners of the finca live in the next door property, the farmhouse of the finca, which is divided by a decorative wall. They are on hand to help with any questions or problems you may have but otherwise leave you to enjoy your holiday at a discreet distance.
